While you will have loads of fun in the two main pools of the Ruby Princess, both the Calypso Reef and Pool and Neptune’s Reef and Pool are very busy locations and not well-suited to swimming laps of the pool unless you want to get up very early in the morning. However, both of these venues do have adjacent whirlpools where you can soak away your aches and pains.
The best way to engage in aquatic fitness activities is at the Lotus Pool, located within the spa. Here you can swim against the current to get a great workout each day. In addition to this opportunity for fitness, the gymnasium in the spa is fully equipped with a wide range of equipment. Work out on the cardio or resistance machines or try out the free weights as part of your daily routine. There is no need to let fitness go by the wayside when you take a cruise on the Ruby Princess because this facility is open each day from 7 in the morning until 10 at night. Fitness classes are also offered on a regular schedule under the guidance of a trained instructor. Take a group aerobics class or one in Pilates, Yoga or stretching. Some classes have a cost of $10 each associated with them. If you are not really into fitness activities but would like to get started you can arrange a one-on-one session with the fitness expert to have a program designed for your needs at a reasonable cost. Walk or jog at your own pace on the padded track that is free of obstacles and offers a panoramic view. Golf simulators provide you with the opportunity to test your driving skills on challenging courses from all over the world. There is a golf expert on the cruise who will help you to enhance your game in the form of clinics. The Lotus Spa focuses on wellness as well as fitness. Within the Sanctuary, you can relax on the lounge chairs in complete comfort and order healthy snacks and drinks. This area of the ship is a refuge for adults as no children are allowed. Have a treatment of your choice, such as a massage and heated beds for those with back problems. The use of the sauna and steam rooms is free for all guests and there are separate rooms for men and women. You will feel so great when you return home from this cruise that you will be ready to take on the world. |
