The choice of traditional or open seating is yours in the main dining rooms of the Sun Princess. For your convenience, both the Regency and Marquis dining rooms are the same size and have the same decor and menus. However, the Regency has open seating during the day and assigned seating in its two sittings for the evening meal. In the Marquis, open seating prevails at all times and you don’t have a set time for dinner, unless you want to make reservations.
The Sun Princess was the first of the Princess cruise ships to offer 24-hour dining in the buffet style of Horizon Court. Now this is pretty much the norm on all the ships in the fleet. Here you can pop in for a bite to eat or a full meal at any time. The food stations set up around the room carry a variety of selections, such as a station for salads, another for breads and various stations for meat, poultry and other dishes. ![]() Dine in an upscale setting at the Sterling Steakhouse where you can enjoy prime cuts of meat cooked just the way you like it. This is the alternative dining venues on the ship where reservations are required and there is a set fee per person of about $20 - $25. There is a prime rib carving station in this venue where you can take in the talents of the chefs and carvers. Formal dress attire is required and the venue is open from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Enjoy a delicious slice of pizza right out of the oven at the Pizzaria, which is conveniently located on the pool deck. It opens at 11 each morning – just in time for lunch and stays open until 5:30 p.m. It reopens at 6:30 and remains open until midnight. Browse the extensive wine list at the Wine and Caviar Bar where you can toast a special occasion in your life or sample the fine wines from all over the world. This venue opens at 5 p.m. and stays open until very late or very early – whichever way you want to look at the time. Have a specialty coffee or tea along with a delicious pastry for breakfast or at any time during the day or night at La Patisserie. The Terrance Grill also opens at 11 a.m. and serves up all your fast food favourites. Since this venue is conveniently located close to the pools, you can grab a bite to eat without having to lose your lounge chair. Buy an ice cream cone or a sundae at Scoops or if you prefer to stay in your room from time to time, room service is available round the clock. There is also an extra amenity for those in balcony staterooms and suites in the Ultimate Balcony dining experience. Even though there is an extra cost involved and you do have to make reservations, this is fine dining experience at its best whether you want breakfast or dinner on your balcony. |
