With the highest percentage of balcony cabins in the Princess Cruises fleet, you won’t have much difficulty getting a gorgeous view of the ocean when you take a cruise on the Island Princess. There are 10 categories of staterooms to choose from when booking depending on your budget and whether or not you want extra amenities, such as you receive with a suite.

You do have amenities at your fingertips whatever category of cabin you have, which include:

• closed circuit TV
• telephone
• wall safe
• private bathroom
• refrigerator
• mini-bar
• bathrobe
• hair dryer
• room service
• fresh towels delivered every day
• ample closet and storage space
• housekeeping to make the bed and tidy the room
• large basket of complimentary toiletries upon arrival

There are self-service laundrettes on the passenger decks, but when you book a suite you will have complimentary laundry and dry-cleaning services. Other extras include a large walk-in closet, two TV’s and a sofa bed in the sitting room area. The suites generally measure about 470 square feet, which includes the size of the balcony. The main bedroom has two twin beds that convert to a queen size bed and the bathroom has a whirlpool tub in addition to the standard shower.

Mini-suites are a little smaller at 208 to 302 square feet. You can also book this category of suite without a balcony but you have an ocean view through a large picture window. Regular balcony staterooms are available and measure between 212 and 248 square feet in size.

The standard outside cabins with a picture window measure 162 square feet, while the inside cabins range from 156 to 166 square feet. There are some outside cabins with an obstructed view through the large window. You may not have much of a view, but you will have natural light coming into the room.

In all the categories of accommodations on the Island Princess, there are wheelchair accessible staterooms for the convenience of disabled passengers. Not only are the bathrooms free of all obstacles, but the doorways are wider. Devices on the telephone make it easy for the hearing impaired and there is a sensor that will notify you when there is someone knocking on the door.
